In 2009, Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC) supplied and installed six back up generators and seventeen cooling towers for One Island East in Hong Kong.

Generator sets and oil system
JEC installed a total of six back up generators on the 35th Floor of One Island East. The generators serve the fire service equipment, essential building services, and different tenants’ needs. The generators ratings are between 1800 kVA and 2000 kVA. The fuel system, together with the pump system, consists of two fuel storage tanks and three daily fuel tanks which support the generators requirements.

Features of cooling towers
JEC installed 17 cooling towers for One Island East to support the building’s air-conditioning system. The water cooled cooling towers make use of gravity for their flow distribution system and are easy to maintain. Furthermore, the newly installed cooling towers use a water cooled system which provides better energy efficiency than traditional air-cooled cooling towers.
