The Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC) joint venture with China Overseas M&E Engineering Company Limited, designed, supplied and installed E&M services for the construction of eight stations and the viaducts along the Ma On Shan Railway.
The Viaduct
The Ma On Shan Railway, with a length of 11.4km, was built to serve the new town of Ma On Shan. The railway consists of viaducts and a small section in the middle running at grade along the central divider of Tate’s Cairn Highway. This minimises land use and disruption to the heavy traffic.
Mechanical and Electrical System
The project involved the design and installation of all the electrical services including the building management system, power supply, lighting equipment, and standby generators. The joint venture was also responsible for mechanical services including air-conditioning, ventilation, fire services, plumbing and drainage. The project is a showcase of JEC’s technical capabilities.
