Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC) has created a data centre sevices solutions by installing a full set of uninterrupted building services systems for the Data Centre in Kerry Warehouse, Tsuen Wan within 10 months. The works cover five floors, which includes one whole floor that contains the data centre and plant rooms with over 1800 m2, and a total floor area of 4400 m2. Our services include air-conditioning system, electrical system, fire services system, building management control system, builders and decoration works. Being the main contractor of the project, JEC led six nominated subcontractors throughout the project, leveraging JEC’s expertise in project management to ensure the completion within the tight time schedule.

JEC supplied and installed the comprehensive range of systems to meet the client’s rigourous standards, compliance needs and their requirement for total reliability of these critical systems to support their operations 24/7.

 

Features

• The indoor temperature and humidity of the data centre is carefully controlled within a narrow range suitable for the high-power density deployment environment.

• Numerous backup systems and N+1 redundancy are used to maintain 24/7 building services operations. Cooling towers, chillers, uninterrupted power system (UPS) and servers adopt one-duty and one-standby design to avoid service suspension due to damage or maintenance reasons.

• Power Quality Monitoring (PQM) were introduced in the project to allow energy usage to be monitored to help improve the reliability and operating standards of the facility’s systems.

• A dry pipe system (pre-action system) was installed for the data hall. The sprinkler pipes will only fill up with water immediately after fire sensor detect a fire, which will simultaneously trigger the pressure inside the sprinkler pipe to decrease and activate the sprinkler pump system.
